Maria was born on June 15, 1931, in Estremoz, Alentejo, Portugal. She immigrated to Canada seeking a better life and, through the years, built a legacy of love, strength, and resilience that continues to live on in her family.
She will be dearly missed by her beloved children: Mario and Olga, and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Christine, Mike and Nikita each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Maria had a passion for knitting and crocheting—crafts she not only mastered but also used to express her creativity and generosity. Her handmade pieces, gifted to loved ones over the years, are now treasured keepsakes.
She leaves behind a lifetime of memories, traditions, and warmth that will never be forgotten.
Visitations for Maria will be held at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 1141 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto, ON M6E 1B1, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and in the evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
There will be a brief visitation in the morning of Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 10:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the Jerrett St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel.
