Maria (Mary) Harrington

July 27, 1950 – October 5, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maria (Mary) Harrington, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 5, 2025, at Michael Garron Hospital in East York at the age of 75.

Born in Poland on July 27, 1950, Mary immigrated to Canada with her family, first settling in St. Catharines before making her home in Toronto, where she built a life rooted in family, faith, and kindness. She was predeceased by her sister Jean and her beloved mother Aniela.

Mary will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Jeannie (James) and her son Richard, as well as by her cherished grandsons Kyle, Aidan, Declan, Joshua, and Brendan, who brought her immense pride and joy. She was a devoted and deeply loved Babcia, whose warmth, laughter, and gentle spirit will be treasured in their hearts forever. She is also survived by her sister Cecilia, her brother Josef, and many extended family members and friends in Canada and Poland.

Mary was a woman of kindness and deep faith. During her illness, she demonstrated true strength and bravery, serving as an enduring example of grace and resilience to all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy of love and perseverance will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

The family extends their most heartfelt gratitude to the Palliative Care nurses at Michael Garron Hospital for their unwavering compassion, care, and support during Mary’s final days.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Giffen-Mack & Trull Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON M4C1L3. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Dunstan’s Catholic Church, 3150 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON M1L 1B6. A private committal service will follow at 2:00 PM at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, 431 Queenston St, St. Catharines, ON L2P 2Y3.
