Frances (Marie) Bowyer (nee Poole) passed away peacefully at her Toronto home in the early morning hours of November 3rd with her daughter at her side. Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jackson Bowyer, her son David, and her brother Bill. She is also survived by her sister Marilyn Alston, of Kitchener, Ontario.
We are exceptionally grateful to the caregivers who provided outstanding home care and to those dear friends who made time to visit Marie as her health declined. This support allowed her to stay at home, where the familiar environment offered her comfort and a sense of security during her final days.
Marie's life centred around family and a professional nursing career. She lived by a strongly held set of values, yet always accepted those whose beliefs differed from her own. She was a tireless healthcare advocate and carer for both ill family members and her patients. As a public health nurse, she gained the trust of the communities she served, providing care to underserved populations. Family members agree that she had a sense of style: she was a woman who was always impeccably dressed in a fashion that expressed her good taste.
Those who survive her will remember her as beautiful, kind and caring.
A visitation for Marie will be held Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Holy Rosary Parish, 354 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto, followed by a Mass at 10 AM. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery 305 Erskine Avenue Toronto.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.rosar-morrison.com for the Bowyer family.
