

On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, Mario Tamarra Alfarero passed away peacefully at the age of 64, surrounded by his loving family & friends at his bedside at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Mario was born on October 17, 1961, in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines, the twelfth of sixteen children born to the late Arsenio and Margarita Alfarero. At the age of fifteen, in 1977, he immigrated to Toronto, Canada, following in the footsteps of his elder siblings.
Mario completed his automotive mechanics training at Centennial College in Canada, and pursued work as a mechanic, DJ, renovations supervisor and small business owner. He loved tennis, dancing and working with his hands. He was known for his kindness, joy, being a loving father, and being the life of the party.
Mario leaves behind his greatest pride and joy, his beloved only daughter, Kaitlann Silao of Canada. He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Regina Tanzo, Patricia Thomson, Legorio Alfarero, Gemela Mahinay, Ansberta Edillo, Maximiliano Alfarero, Marcos Genju Alfarero, and Amado Alfarero, all of Canada; Lucila Clerino of the Philippines and Guillerma Centino and Maria Gimmi Relampagos, both of the United States; as well as his many cherished nieces and nephews and a wide circle of dear friends whose lives he touched.
Mario was predeceased by his sister Orlanda Tayong and his brothers Ferdinand Alfarero, Arsenio Alfarero Jr., and Cristobal Alfarero.
A celebration of Mario’s life will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Jerrett Funeral Homes on 660 Kennedy Road Toronto, Ontario, with visitation at 10am.
