After—yet another—triumphant feat by ringing in the new year with only celebration, Odelia “Dolly” or “OD” V. Bringas passed peacefully, on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Kensington Hospice in Toronto, Canada. Odelia, while hand-in-hand with her beloved daughter, Laura-Ann; and surrounded by many of her family and loved ones; took her last breath with grace, and finally embraced rest.
Odelia is now reunited with the love of her life, her husband, William “Wasyl” Pastushak; her deeply cherished Father and Mother, Benedicto Q. Bringas and Teofista DeVera Bringas; her true favourite child, her furry baby, Roscoe; and the many more who long-awaited to welcome her arrival.
Though we mourn her absence here; we may not be solely bound to notions of loss. As Odelia, with immeasurable strength and kindness, gifted us with an affect so profound, we are moved to tears of solace.
Let us attempt to not only relish in memories of Odelia, but to honour and continue her legacy that we are now in receipt of. This is not an end or beginning; this is a testament of immense will, care, and love, Odelia so effortlessly, and graciously, carried and surrendered for our avail.
As we strive to move forward, Odelia wishes our time ahead to be as beautiful as the past we shared alongside her. She politely asks for no sorrow in thinking of days without her; instead, we are to generously share how she made us feel with those around us.
