Peter Meldrum Brooks

Suddenly at his home on February 19, 2010 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of the late Grace Brooks (nee Hinman).

Devoted and inspiring father of Judith and Andrew, father-in-law of Trevor and Deirdre, companionable grandfather of Alex, Emma, Dagny and Fraser. Survived by his sister Barbara Greer, predeceased by his brother Robert.

After receiving his Honours BA in History from U of T and law degree from Osgoode Hall, he became a lawyer for the City of Toronto, was awarded Queen’s Counsel (QC), and was appointed to the Ontario Municipal Board, becoming Vice-Chairman.

He will be sadly missed by his family, and his many friends and colleagues. Peter was caring, smart, stimulating, and fun to be with from beginning to end.

A memorial service will be held at the TRULL FUNERAL HOME “NORTH TORONTO” CHAPEL, 2704 Yonge St (5 blocks south of Lawrence) on Tuesday, February 23 at 11:00 am.
