

Rev. Peter K. Mosteller, C.S.B. died at St. Michael’s Hospital on December 29, 2011 after a brief illness. He was born in Akron, Ohio on August 13, 1928, son of Chester (C.P.) Mosteller and Isabel Abbott. After graduating from St. Michael’s College in the University of Toronto, he entered the Congregation of St. Basil and was professed on September 12, 1951. He was ordained to the priesthood on June 29, 1956. He taught in the Basilian schools in Toronto ON, Sudbury ON and Houston, TX. During this time he completed a degree in Religious Education at the University of St. Thomas, Houston, TX. He served as a parish priest in Toronto, ON (Holy Rosary and St. Basil’s) and Houston, TX (St. Anne’s). Fr. Peter before serving in parishes was a member of the Congregation’s Formation Leadership . He spent his last years in retirement at the Cardinal Flahiff Basilian Centre, Toronto, ON. Fr. Peter was a devoted brother to his sisters and to his brothers in the Congregation. He is predeceased by his parents and sister Joan Porter. The Basilian Fathers offer their condolences to his sisters: Judith Keegan, Sr. Susan Mosteller, C.S.J., Sallee Baigent (Robert), many nieces and nephews and friends.
On Tuesday, January 3, 2012 there will be Visitation at 9 a.m. followed by the Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Cardinal Flahiff Basilian Centre, 95 St. Joseph Street, Toronto. Interment Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Basilian Fathers Retirement Fund, 95 St. Joseph Street, Toronto, ON, M5S 2R9
