Loving mother of Dario (Anna), Loris (Sandra), Paola and cherished Nonna of Philip (Jennifer), Julia (Zvi), Andrew (Jodie), Melissa (Dean) and Kristen (Brandon), and very special Bisnonna of Annie and Camilla. Rina will be deeply missed by her sister; Anna (Elio), by her brother; Renato (Marisa) as well as her many nieces, nephews, and extended family in Canada and in Italy. Rina will be forever remembered, loved, and missed by all her family and friends.
Rina and Adelchi married in Italy and immigrated to Canada with young son Dario in 1957. The family continued to grow with Loris and Paula arriving in subsequent years. Life was often challenging living in a new country, however, with the support of extended family and community, they did their best to adapt to their new home, never forgetting their Friulan roots in Italy.
Rina was known for her exquisite cooking and bringing family together for all special occasions, no gathering was too small or too large. She always accommodated her grandchildren by preparing their favourite dish, like her famous sauteed mushrooms and star pasta soup! She was proud of her vegetable garden and would always share the harvests with family and neighbours. She was also well recognized in the community during her many years in retail sales on St. Clair Avenue West. She was very youthful and fashionable and had a kind word for everyone she met. Singing was also one of her passions which started when she was a young girl in her hometown church. Her father would comment on how her voice was heard above all the rest. It is comforting to know that she is now singing up above and reunited with her beloved husband Adelchi and family members and friends.
