Dear Ev and family. Steve and I and Cordelia were so sorry to hear of Don's passing. He was a dear friend, so kind to me when I worked at KRU. He will be missed. xo

I found "cousin" Don through our mutual love of genealogy.  What a pleasure to get to know him and Evelyn.

On Rob's and my wedding day when Dad did his speech, he said, "we aren't losing a son like the saying goes.. a son is a son until he takes a wife.... We are Gaining a Daughter".  Those words meant and mean so much to me.  Over the years, I have benefited from his kind, loving ways.  I have learned how to cook some new things.. sourdough stuff, etc.  I do have one regret...  I never did find out where he got the paper bags big enough to cook those huge turkeys in and why he cooked them in paper bags to begin with.  LOL....  Thank you, Dad, for your generosity of time and love with all of us.  We will miss you.

Condolences to everyone in the family.  I have warm memories of Don coming to our house for bridge club dinner nights over the years in North York.  He was always kind to me. My parents have decades of memories from their life experiences together with Ev and Don and he will be sorely missed.

Don will be greatly missed by the family and all his many friends.
I first remember Don when I was seven years old in Morpeth Northumberland.We fished for minnows in the river Wansbeck and had lots of picnics and fun times travelling round squashed into the blue station wagon.
I'm really glad that I visited in June 2014 and had another chance to spend time with Don,Evelyn Marion,Barb and families.Many thanks for a wonderful holiday in Scarborough ,at the cottage and in Ottawa.

Mr. Kidd was my Grade 8 teacher at Blantyre.  A fine man.  A good teacher.  An encouraging chorister.  With him, we sang SATB.  Never left me.  He taught us the New Math.  A memorable man.  A respectful man.  Helped shape my life.  Thank you, Don.  I mean, Mr. Kidd.  Jim McKnight.

Uncle Donald will be greatly missed! I remember how he taught me to play the ukelele and all the fun times we had both at home and at the cottage growing up as one of the 'gang's kids' and 'bridge club' kids. Love to you all! Prayers and sympathy from Susan and Morgan on the farm out west.
