A retired pressman for The Globe and Mail with over 40 years of dedicated service, Ron was known for his hard work, kindness, and unwavering love for his family.
The two greatest passions of Ron’s life were his beloved wife and best friend, Althea (née Martin), to whom he was a devoted husband for 67 years, and his love for softball, which he enjoyed playing with the Scarborough Seniors Slo-Pitch League. He was cherished by many and often described as the "nicest gentleman."
Ron will be deeply missed by his daughter Tricia, his son Gord, and his grandchildren Nikki, Eddie, and Ryan. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
As per Ron’s wishes, a cremation has taken place, and there will be no formal service or memorial. Instead, his family asks that he be remembered for the kind, generous, and remarkable man he was.
If desired, donations in Ron’s memory may be made to his favorite charities, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Canada or The War Amps of Canada.
