

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Samson Desroches, who left us peacefully on February 2, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on July 8, 1950 in Haiti, Samson was a man of vibrant energy, a lover of life, and a true adventurer at heart.
Samson had a passion for travel, enjoying many beaches on his journeys. However, it was Jamaica that truly held a special place in his heart. Whether it was the warm island breeze, the rhythm of reggae music, or the beautiful landscapes, Jamaica was special. His love for the island was deeply intertwined with his love for reggae music, and he could often be found listening to the soulful melodies that filled his spirit with joy and peace.
Samson is remembered not only for his adventurous spirit but also for his kindness, generosity, and zest for life. He will be remembered by by his daughter Sandra Desroches, and her mother Jacqueline; his siblings Athelia, Antoine, Anne-Marie, Samuel, Jacqueline, and Roseline Desroches; his grandchildren Nelfils, Nelly, Helisha Jada Desroches, Raybenson Andrew, Sandrine Dormevil; his nieces and nephews Wesner, Denise, Koester Riviere, Chantal, Sami, Samantha, Mathieu, David, Desroches Berman Charles, Dieurizine, Linda, Altagrace, Moise, Alex; Sister in Law Marie-Came Desroches Son in Law Ulma Dormevil; Daughter in Law Meliane Desroches; and also remembered by his ex-wife Patricia Mitchell. He will be reunited with his children Andre and Ronel Deroches.
He is also mourned by his wide circle of friends, fellow travelers, and all those whose lives he touched with his warmth and enthusiasm.
A memorial service to celebrate Samsons's life will be held on Saturday February 8, 2025 at Jerrett Funeral Homes St. Clair Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 11:00am with the Funeral Service to follow. The family will be hosting a reception after the funeral family and friends are welcome to attend.
