

He was born in Chapleau Ontario where he was an avid hockey player. The New York Rangers offered him a try out with their team, but he chose to continue his education instead. He graduated with a BCom from U of T in 1955. Tom worked for Bell Canada in various positions in Montreal and Toronto. One of his career highlights was the successful delivery of a data centre and systems to Saudi Arabia in the late 70s.
World traveler and dapper dresser with a fondness for fedoras & hats, Tom was equally comfortable in the bush fishing & canoeing. He liked to follow the news, read history, poetry, enjoyed music, was an excellent dancer & valued his time with family and friends.
Tom and his wife, Joan, were happily married for over 69 years and enjoyed visiting over 80 countries across the world together. They were extremely loving and supportive parents to their children Kathryn, John and Susan and maintained close connections to extended family.
Tom was sadly predeceased by his son John (1992) and his brothers Donald and Douglas. He is survived by his sister Frances, sisters-in-law Alma, Noreen, Gwen, Karen (Bruce) and many nieces and nephews.
Tom's loving wife Joan, daughters Kathryn and Susan, grandchildren Jade (Jamie) and Michael (Tania), & great-granddaughter Lucia, will miss his loving presence and continue to hold and cherish wonderful memories of this special man.
