Wayne Glover passed away suddenly on March 20th. He grew up in Toronto, selling concessions at Maple Leaf Gardens and working on Centre Island as a teenager. After graduating from university with honours, he had a long and fulfilling career in broadcasting and audio technology. He used his audio skills for 12 years at radio station CFRB Radio then 30 years for CBC Radio and on the TV Morning Show. During his work he felt privileged to meet many of Canada’s Prime Ministers. After being the recipient of care and guidance as a boy through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, he spent a decade serving as a Big Brother himself. He was pre-deceased by his loving partner of 44 years, Mary Blackwood DePoe (CBC Television), their great joy was travelling the world together. Wayne retired from CBC in 2017.
Wayne’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 1st at the Rosar-Morrison-Morrison Funeral Home at 467 Sherbourne St. in downtown Toronto. The visitation will be at 10:00 am. The funeral will follow at 12 noon officiated by The Rev. Dr. Emily Bisset who also officiated at the funeral for his beloved Mary.
