it's Been a rough go - losing Tom a few days back.  I knew he wasn't feeling the best - but I didn't think I would lose him that quickly.

Wow Billy just over 7 years ago it seems like yesterday I was saying see you later the day before I got the awful news that you had passed away.  I couldn't believe it when I walked in the track the next day and someone told me you were gone it broke my heart and I miss you just as much today as that day. I do believe that I will see you again some way some how until then my friend rest easy.

Hey Billy its been awhile since i left a message our Blue Jays blew it in playoffs this year but its a young team hopefully this will be a lesson learned for next year. The Leafs just started their season and are expected to challenge for the cup this year but we have heard that before right lol. Well Bill - it has also been a while since i have posted here.
Life has been crazy - but you are NOT  forgotten - we just get so busy.
Our Dear sister Donna passed on May 12th - but you know that as I am sure you and Mom were waiting with open arms for her.

This was unexpected as was your passing, and we are trying our best to come to terms.  I believe she was ready as she had a hard time being in the lodge during these covid times and missed having visitors, until just recently - with so many restrictions.  The last few years have been so Difficult for her.
Please take care of her.  We will all be together some day - until then - just know we love and miss you all.   But you are all without pain and troubles.  Free to soar - sing and dance.

Bill - so much going on -this darn COVID  !!
 in some ways I am so glad you didn't have to go thru this .  Talked to Karen via email and we said, laughingly - you wouldn't be liking it to stay inside - you were always out somewhere helping someone .  you are NOT forgotten  - as Randy said.  Many still speak your name and smile. 
Donna is doing pretty good considering all - and has been looked after at Nisbet. Tom, Betty and all the families are good as well, missing you and your wisdom.
I check in here and I see Randy ( not sure who he is ) often visits here. 
we will meet again someday - but in the meantime - you are with Mom and Dad and many others :(  so many have passed.

You are SO loved! It is a very rare event for me to even check my (alternative) gmail account remotely. However, each blue moon visit to my inbox from my (prensently Wintery) down under side of the world (NZ) almost ALWAYS has a link to this platform where yet another memory, thought, or message from those who still think of you (often) is left. It proves so well that you were a Legend of your own short but very sweet time on this earth. I am pleased you are remembered often by so many, and that you were valued so well that the staff ensured your plaque memorial moved to the new mailroom-wherever that is...it was sad to read the Green Belt office closed. My memory of you most often visited is our stint together as  the Bernstein Bears at the annual G&T children's Xmas party...with me helping you get into and stuff with socks one of my borrowed bras as you prepared to be Mrs Bernstein. While tears may still be shed for your loss, smiles such as this memory brings to me will no doubt be aplenty. You are blessed!

Bill - so many things since last post - your leafs did great this year  -but fell a bit short - and didnt make it to the stanley cup.   Played great though.  We celebrated your birthday here - guess you were all partying up there.

Hi Bill, Sure do miss you at the office! I thought of you on Remembrance Day when a few of us would go outside and wait for the war planes to fly over our office. You would always say they are coming.......then we would hear the loud roar. We took your picture into the cafeteria and put it on the table during the TV ceremonies. I remember my Uncle Billy with that big smile that would light up the room. How he teased me as a young child but always with a wink. Time has flown by and I can see from these posts he was loved and will be missed terribly. He can now join Grandpa Alec, Grandma Teresa,my dad and mom and take his place watching over all of us. To Nance, Donna, Tommy and Betty, I am thinking of you all. RIP Uncle Billy, the world is a sadder place now.

Today is no different !
This was all too sudden - it wasn't fair and I cry myself to sleep at night - going over and over - our last good bye.
Everywhere I go - someone is sharing a story of you.  You have been honoured in so many ways - You would be so proud to see this !
Everyone loves you and misses you. 
They all have their own memories - and I have mine.
You taught me so much about caring for people - how 'Not' to judge people and to always be the first one to step up and reach out to others. You were one of the most generous and caring of people that I will ever know. Always giving from your heart.
Our childhood was from a simple time- much less complicated than life now, and we were given the foundation of a good family. You had your difficulties as we all did and you overcame them.  You mentored many others thru your experiences. You loved everyone unconditionally.  As I read the things people wrote about you - things I already knew - it brings joy to know how much you were loved and appreciated by so many friends, co-workers, family and everyone that shared a moment - or a lifetime- with you.

Bill was a huge part of Grand & Toy's head office culture. Always the first to welcome a newcomer and always so helpful and engaging every day. He was happy to take care of anyone and everyone. The birds who reside in our shrubs will miss the bread he fed them every morning and we will miss his energy, kind heart and spirit.

So sorry to hear of Bill's passing.  He and I worked together for some years at G&T.  He was a very loyal, honest and energetic person who will be missed by many.  I too have very good memories of Bill.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time.

To a most amazing giving person, you will be so very much missed on our street, always a smile always happy,  will miss you dearly..

It did not matter how long one knew Bill to realize that he was a special "one-of-a-kind" person - one of those very memorable individuals who cared a lot, was a dedicated employee and actively involved in many things he was passionate about.  

My own memories of Bill come from my very few years of experience working at Grand & Toy on Green Belt Drive.  We were both representatives with the Employees Association and once shared a unique role dressing up as Mrs. (Bill) & Mr. (myself) Bernstein Bear for the 1990 annual children's Christmas party.  We had a laugh getting into our costumes and it is a day I will always remember.

The news of his passing was unexpected and I extend across the many miles my sincere sympathies not only to his family, but also to his extended 2nd family at Grand & Toy - it is obvious he will be sadly missed by so many there.

so many wonderful memories of you at Grand & Toy. Bowling , baseball, golf,  and lots of fun evenings ,trips to wonderland. Mom and Dad 
( Dally & Corky , cafeteria,) always thought so much of you too.

News of Billy's passing came as such a shock.  Billy was so much the very soul of Dingwall Ave, and indeed of Withrow Park for all the dog-lovers who knew him there, that I never imagined he would ever leave us.  He was such a generous, kind and selfless person.  Aeh and I will always remember how he welcomed us to the neighbourhood with such warmth.  We will always cherish the memories of streetside chats with Billy, as his beloved dog and friend Ryan looked on impatiently waiting to get to the park or back home.  And he will always be a shining example for the rest of my days of what it means to care for one's loved ones. His love for his sister Donna will be impossible to match, but it will always be the standard I will try to achieve in my own life.  Good-bye, Billy.

I met Bill back in the 80's. We worked together in the mail room. We had many many laughs back in the day.  It is a very sad sad day. As mentioned, he truly was the heart and soul of Grand & Toy. Rest in Peace my dear friend. My deepest condolences go out to the family.

My grandparents, Corky & Dolly Rumsam, ran the cafeteria at G&T for many years. This is where I met Bill. I was probably 4 or 5 when we met. He was always fun to be around and my family spoke very highly of him. RIP Bill.
