
He is survived by sister, Phyllis Olsen, of Tacoma and nephews and nieces in Arizona and Washington State. His twin sister, Ann Brush, sister, Mary Kitaj, and brother Harvey Cox, predeceased him.
After graduating from Principia College, Al began his career at Bank of America then shortly moved to the Aerospace Industry. He worked at North American Aviation, Rockedyne, Litton, and for most of his career at TRW. He retired from TRW in 1992 as Manager of Financial Planning. He also taught UCLA extension classes in finance. He was an avid Dodger and Lakers fan and was a strong rooter for the University of Washington Huskies.
He had a facility for learning languages, including Spanish, French and Italian, which he enjoyed using during his travels in Europe.
He was a generous friend to land and animal conservation organizations, and to local public radio and TV stations. A gathering of family and friends will be held at White & Day Manhattan Beach Chapel on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Inurnment will be in Tacoma.
