
Anthony had served in the Navy as an Aviation Metalsmith 2nd Class on the USS Marcus Island during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Anthony was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church. He worked for A&A Associates as a sheet metal fabricator and later became a foreman for the company. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local 105. Being in the construction trace, he helped neighbors and friends with just about any project when asked. Later in life he picked up the hobby of building bird houses, giving many away to his friends and family. Anthony had a love of the great outdoors and spent many hours fishing and camping with his family. He also had a passion for baseball, and his favorite team the Anaheim Angels.
He is survived by Wife, Pauline Ostrowski of Lawndale, CA; Son, Richard (Diane) Ostrowski of Torrance, CA; Son, Anthony Jr. (June) Ostrowski of Huntington Beach, CA; Daughter, Elizabeth (Manny) Bedolla of Lakewood, CA; Sister, Irene (Edward) Gorski of Erie, PA; Brother, Joe Ostrowski of Middletown, CT; Sister, Cecelia Fold of Baltimore, MD; 3 Grandchildren: Jenae, Justen, and Jason (Franchesca); and 2 Great Grandchildren: Carmen, and Isabella. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Anthony and Rosalia Ostrowski.
A gathering of family & friends will be held at McCormick Mortuary in Hawthorne on Wednesday February 6, 2008 from 3 to 7pm, followed by a Rosary Service at 7pm. Mass will be held at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in Torrance on Thursday February 7, 2008 at 10am. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
