Anthony James Timko

Timko, Anthony James, a 66 year resident of the South Bay, passed away at home in Gardena on Saturday, March 12, 2011. Born in Westville, Illinois. Anthony was 94 when he died. Anthony had served in the Army during World War II in the European Theater. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Gardena, the Gardena Knights of Columbus, and the Northrup Grumman Retirement Club.

Anthony is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen Timko of Gardena, CA; daughter, Karen Timko and her husband Rene Gonzalez of Alhambra, CA; daughter, Marie Hazlewood of Redondo Beach, CA; son, Allan Timko of San Pedro, CA; daughter, Judy Timko of Palmdale, CA; brother, Michael Timko of Springfield, IL; grandchildren Nichole Hazlewood and Craig Hazlewood of Redondo Beach, CA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Timko; and 10 siblings.

A gathering of family & friends will be held at McMillan McCormick Mortuary in Gardena on Friday March 18, 2011 from 5 to 9pm with a Rosary beginning at 6pm. The Service will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Gardena on Satuday March 19 at 11am. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
