Beloved son, father, brother, and uncle, passed away on Saturday, September 10, at the age of 55 in Monterey, CA. Born in Tacoma, WA, to Avon "Pappy" and June Young, Gil spent the last 25 years living in San Pedro. He was a remarkable football and baseball player in high school and college, and was an avid golfer all his life. Gil is survived by two sons, Christopher Young and Matthew Young, brothers Robert (Mary) Young and Dennis (Wendy) Young, and nieces Erin Young and Jennifer Young. Visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM Wednesday, September 14, at the Rice Mortuary in Torrance. A tribute service will be 3:00 Friday, September 16 at the Green Hills Memorial Park Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes.
