Barbara moved at a young age with her parents to Toledo, Ohio. There she was educated by the Ohio school district. She received her formal education and graduated from Scott High School.
In, 1955, "Jean" (as she was known) was united in marriage to Joseph E. Cherry, and to this union a son was born name Michael in 1956.
She was a military wife and she resided in several states throughout the U.S. with her family. Eventually Barbara settled here in Los Angeles where she started her career with Aero Space in El Segundo, California. After dedicating twenty plus years as a Computer Analysts with Aero Space she then retired. She joined Trinity Baptist Church. She remained an "active" member until her health prevented her attendance, however, even during her illness she still was an active contributor.
Barbara lived an amazing life. She was a devoted mother and great friend. She was a social butterfly. Barbara loved to dance, she loved music, she loved spending time with her friends at "The Greatest", and she could talk for hours on the phone or in person, but most importantly she loved spending time with her son Michael.
Barbara is in heaven now and we are here at her memorial service. This is not the time for us to grieve her death but it's our time to celebrate her life. She never wanted to see people cry. She wanted to make everyone happy. Think back and remember how Barbara touched our lives. How she made us laugh and how good Barbara was as a person.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory Michael E. Cherry (Son) Oscar Henderson & Dawn Henderson (Cousins) and a host of family and friends.
