Bertha Marie Souza, 90, of Redondo Beach, CA passed away Saturday, June 10th. She was born in Somerset, MA on February 14, 1927 to Joseph P. and Marie Lacerda, married in 1947 to Adelino C. Souza, and moved to Redondo Beach, CA in 1957. A loving Christian mother and grandmother, and retired child care business owner. She enjoyed volunteering and participating in activities with the Veterans Park Seniors, acting on the deaconess board with her church, Chapel by the Sea, and loved to bake for her family and friends. Bertha is survived by her five children, Kenny Souza, Donald Souza, Donna Braswell, Jerry Souza, Barbara Blackwell, her three grandchildren, Jennifer Booth, Vanessa Lopez, Nicole Booth, and her four great grandchildren, Madisynn, Stella, Cali and Brynn. Her sweet spirit will be remembered at a 11 am service on June 30th, White and Day Funeral Home, 901 Torrance Blvd., Torrance, CA 90277.
