Jacobsen, Bonnie Jean, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away in the caring arms of her family on Tuesday, April 25, 2006. She recently celebrated her 57th wedding anniversary to "Jake." Born on July 7, 1927, in Esterville, Iowa, and longtime resident of Carson, she will be remembered as a loving, consummate wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as a great cook, gardener, quilter, and bowler. She retired from Lucky stores in 1985. She is survived by her husband, Arnold "Jake" of Carson; daughter Cindy (Jeff) Gray of Moreno Valley; daughter Denise (Pete) Bothe of Long Beach; daughter Robyn (Danny) Shatwell of Lakewood; son Marty (Kim) Jacobsen of LaPalma; and 11 grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, April 28th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rice Mortuary in Torrance. Private burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the American Cancer Society.
