Clinton E Daniel, a 55 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 in Torrance. Born in Barnsdall, OK, Clinton was 79 when he died. Clinton had served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Bellflower Masonic Lodge, the Al Malaikah Shrine Temple (he was a longtime volunteer at North Redondo Little League), and during his retirement he worked as a Crossing Guard for the City of Redondo Beach. His career was spent as a machinist working on various projects related to the American Space Program.
Clinton is survived by his son, Clinton E Daniel Jr. of Torrance, CA; step-daughter, Darlene Vest of Jacksonville, FL; 4 grandchildren: Susie Mota, Jonathon Vest, Seth and Leah Daniel; and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Clarence and Loretta, and his parents, Jessie and Oda Daniel.
Services will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 10am. Burial will follow at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside at 1:45pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Redondo Beach Little League in Clinton's honor.
