Dorothy Pilmer

The youngest of seven children, Dorothy was born in Buhl, MN. Dorothy attended the College of St. Scholastica and received her Bachelor's degree in Nursing Education in 1950. She worked as a nursing instructor at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene OR for several years before she met and married her husband Robert. After marriage she devoted her life to being a loving wife and mother. She was a long time member of St. Francis Episcopal Church where she served faithfully in the Altar Chapter, the Sewing Guild and the Prayer Chain.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert G Pilmer of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; daughter Sharon Pilmer and son in law Mark Ratcliffe of Piedmont California; two grandchildren, Emily and Andrew Ratcliffe; sisters Milly and Sophie and brothers Dan and George. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bude and Draga Klasna, brother Bob and sister Mary.

A memorial service will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Palos Verdes Estates on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or to St. Francis Episcopal Church Gardening Angels, in memory of Dorothy Pilmer.
