
Dorris graduated from North Hollywood High School just prior to World War II and as a member of "the greatest generation" she worked in the defense industry and also sold War Bonds. After the war she worked on various radio and TV shows before a live audience as a model. She later continued her entertainment career working for Disney. In 1950 she began her proudest career, as a mother and homemaker raising 4 children. Once her children were school aged she returned to work this time in the health care and later the defense industries.
During her 60 years in Westchester she was involved in her children's many activities in school, sports, and music, along with her church and many local community issues and politics as a whole.
She is survived by her daughter Lorraine Doolin (Vince), and sons John (Mary Ann), Michael (Becca), and Patrick; and 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack in November 1960.
Meditation and Rosary (beginning at 6:30pm) will be from 5:00-9:00pm on Friday, June 26th at White & Day Colonial Mortuary in Redondo Beach. The Funeral will be at Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Wilmington at 9:00am Saturday, June 27th. Internment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City following the Funeral.
