Acosta, Ernest William, "Ernie", a life-long resident of Los Angeles County, passed away on Wednesday August 25, 2010 at his home in Torrance. Born in Los Angeles, CA, Ernie was 82 when he died. Ernie was a member of St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church in Redondo Beach. He was the owner of Acosta Jewelers in Redondo Beach for over 43 years. Ernie was a member of Redondo Beach Riviera Rotary Club for over 30 years, and had served as the President of the City of Hope, South Bay Chapter.
Ernie is survived by his wife of over 43 years, Gloria Vizarreta Acosta of Torrance, CA; 4 nephews and 2 nieces.
The Celebration of Life Mass will be held at the Risen Christ Chapel at Holy Cross in Culver City on Thursday September 2, 2010 at 11:30am. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
