
DiGiacomo, Frank Evans, a prominent Los Angeles County Attorney, passed away peacefully at his home in Manhattan Beach on Monday, April 16th surrounded by family and friends, due to complications of brain cancer.
Born in Ossining, New York in 1944, Frank graduated from Ossining High School in 1962, the University of Georgia in 1966 (Bachelor's Degree), USC in 1972 (Masters), and Southwestern University (Juris Doctor) in 1977. He passed the California Bar in 1978 and practiced in the Los Angeles County area for 29 years. A Captain in the United States Air Force Intelligence Service, he served for four years with assignments at March AFB, California and various locations in Southeast Asia. Among his many achievements, he was a private pilot, scuba diver, fisherman, gardener, equestrian, and gourmet cook.
He was preceded in death by his father Charles and sister Gail Bennett and is survived by his daughter, Samantha, his mother, Bertha, his brother, Charles and sister-in-law Terry, sisters Bea Spann and brother-in-law Jerry, Janet Tavano; seven nieces and four nephews, three grand nieces, and three grandnephews, and former wife, Susan.
A gathering of family and friends will be held to celebrate his life at Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Blvd., Torrance, CA 90503 on Friday, April 20th, from 5 to 9 PM. Services will be held the next day, Saturday, at the same location at 10 AM followed by a procession to Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes for internment.
