Fred Fontela Floresca Jr., age 73, passed away on December 21, 2025. He was born on December 3, 1952 in Vallejo, California. He was a son to Flordelina and Fred, a devoted husband to Shirley, and a loving father to Lawrence.
He worked as an engineer for over 30 years, ensuring quality at the highest levels of aerospace innovation. Over the years, he also spent time in law enforcement and as owner of a small firearms business.
Although he was quiet by nature, he was always ready with a clever dad joke or solid word of wisdom. He loved to travel, cook, and shoot. As an avid Raiders, Rams, Chargers and collegiate fan, football season was one of his favorite times of year.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Mary. His granddaughter, Sylphrena, was the light of his life in his final years. His memory also lives on with his stepfather Tony and brothers and sisters, Greg, Dale, Dane, Ronald, Richard, Paul, Lina, and Vicky. He is preceded by his sister Anita.
He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
