Genevieve Mary Asher

Genevieve "Jeff" Asher, a 57 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2010. Genevieve was 79 when she died. She was an amazing, loving and generous woman. She was born in Detroit, MI, and moved to California in 1953. She enjoyed raising her family, and working at various jobs, including a full-time job as an Executive Assistant at Kawai America Piano Corp. for over 25 years. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and she often travelled to see relatives in the Midwest. Genevieve was multi-talented and among her achievements, she was a beautician , bookkeeper, cashier, receptionist, executive assistant and notary public. She was an incredible person who was loved and will be dearly missed. Genevieve is survived by her daughter, Carole (Mike) Cockrell of Torrance, CA; daughter, Rosemary (Riley) Kelley of Morro Bay, CA; daughter, Jean (Mike) Ghianuly of Torrance, CA; daughter, Joan Hakim of Torrance, CA; grandson Daniel Hakim of Redondo Beach, CA; and grandson, Michael Ghianuly of Torrance, CA.

A gathering of family & friends will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance on Wednesday November 3, 2010 from 5 to 9pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 5pm. The Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hermosa Beach on Friday November 5 at 10am. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes.
