Georgette Emily Tramontin

TRAMONTIN, Georgette Emily, 95, resident of the South Bay for 20 years and resident of California for more than 70 years, has gone home, entering into eternal life on August 6, 2009. She was born May 16, 1914, in Portland, Oregon. An actress in the early days of Hollywood, stage name Emlie Auda, she appeared in Cecil B. DeMilles' 1932 film epic The Sign of the Cross. She often would entertain all around her with stories of the fledgling movie industry. Later, before her marriage to Fred, she worked directly with manicurist to the stars, Juliette Marglen of Fabergé. Her cooking and baking skills were second to none. An accomplished artist, she leaves behind many items of beauty. She had been married more than 56 years to her beloved husband, Fred, who preceded her in death 11 years ago.

Survived by her only child, Michael; daughter-in-law, Toni; grandsons Nicholas and Thomas; and great granddaughter Emily, this gentle lady leaves behind a legacy of love.

Celebration of the Holy Mass and internment will be at the Holy Cross Mausoleum, Monday, August 10, 2009, at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name to Father Flanagan's Boys Town, 300 Flanagan Boulevard, Boys Town, NE 68010; www.boystown.org.
