Geraldine F. Becker

Geraldine Frances Becker passed away on Monday, October 6, 2008, after 85 years shared with family and friends. A Manhattan Beach native, she was married to William Becker with whom she just recently celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary.

Gerry, as she was fondly known, was a woman of grace and compassion. She was always active in her community with the Neptunians, the Red Cross, and as an active member of American Martyrs Parrish, where she also served as president of the Parents Association. You may even remember seeing her smiling behind the counter at the Beach Store, which was owned by the Becker Family. She enjoyed traveling around the world, especially with her family by her side. She also enjoyed her garden and feeding her blue-jays, and she took particular pride in her orchids. Gerry was the grounded center of a loving family and she had numerous friends who cherished her. A gracious and gentle woman, she passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

She now joins her beloved daughter, Denise, and is survived by husband William, children Paul and Diane, grandchildren Nicole, Joshua and Isabella, and great grandchildren, Dane, Tanner, Mason and Kyra.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, October 13th at 10:00 am at American Martyrs Church in Manhattan Beach.
