Born on February 26, 1933 in Iowa City, Iowa, he grew up in Inglewood California. He received his medical degree from the State University of Iowa where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity. In 1961, "Dr. Jim", as he was known to most, joined his father and uncle in their OB/GYN practice at Prairie Avenue Medical Group in Inglewood. After 42 years, he retired in 2003.
He is survived by his wife Carol, two daughters, Karyl (Mrs. W.R.) Wigington and Krista Frudenfeld; two stepdaughters, Tara (Mrs. Greg) Carne and Jena Robinson, and five grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
