James Earl Shaw

Shaw, James Earl a 46 year resident of Hawthorne, passed away at age 79 on Sunday, February 11, 2007 in Torrance. Born in Los Angeles, James attended Hamilton High School, served in the U.S. Army and retired from American Airlines after working 39 years. James was devoted to youth sports for over 40 years. He was a former president of Hawthorne Junior All American Football; he led Hawthorne Pony Baseball for 30 years, coached Little League, Pony & Colt Baseball, Hawthorne American Legion Post 314 Baseball and Hawthorne High School Baseball. He was a husband, father and friend always active in community service. Preceded in death

by: his wife Anastasia "Stacy" Shaw, he is survived by his sons, James (Lillian), Kenneth & David Shaw, 5 grandchildren Jennifer, Amanda, Beth, Sara and DJ. Family & friends will gather Friday, February 16, 2007, 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Rice Mortuary in Torrance. Service will be held Saturday, February, 17, 2007, 11:30 A.M. at Holy Cross Mausoleum Risen Christ Chapel in Culver City, with Committal to follow in Holy

Cross Cemetery.
