Janice H ''Jan'' Thompson, a 42 year resident of San Pedro passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2004 in San Pedro. Born in Long Beach, California, July 6, 1922, Jan was 82. She had worked at Todd Shipyards for over 33 years. Later she became a volunteer at Little Company of Mary Hospital and the Los Angeles Police Department. Left to mourn her passing are daughter, Teri Thompson of Redondo Beach; her sons Richard (Linda) Thompson of Redondo Beach and Craig (Tracy) Thompson of Torrance and 5 grandchildren, Deesa, Circe, Shaun, Angela and Kiara; 2 great-grandchildren, Taylor and Ryan. Celebration of her life services will be held Friday, October 15 at 2:00 PM at Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Blvd. in Torrance. Reception will follow in Rice's Reception Room. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Care Hospice in memory of Jan.
