Jill Nicole Griffith, loving mother and wife, passed away January 19, 2025, after a near 10-year battle with a rare neurological disease, MSA. A disease that robbed her of a functioning body, but left her mind fully intact. To her last day, it allowed Jill what she loved most, spending time with her husband and son, watching her son grow up and go to college. Jill was only 54.
Jill grew up in Minnesota with father Dan, mother Barb and sister Jan. She moved to California as a college transfer at Azusa Pacific University, ending up in Manhattan Beach where she remained for all but a brief time in Chicago. After graduating, Jill started a successful career as a financial advisor where she met her husband, Tom. Jill’s greatest joy in life was her son, born in 2005. She gave up her career to focus her love, kindness, and devotion on her family. Jill loved her family, she loved good food, she loved beach vacations, but most of all she loved watching her son grow up. She loved hearing about his days at school, watching his hockey games on live stream and frequent facetime calls once he left for college.
Jill is survived by her husband of 24 years, Tom Griffith, and her son Tommy (19) who both received her selfless kindness and dedication even through her years of battle and suffering. She will be forever remembered by both as everything kind in their world.
She is also survived by her father Dan Engels, and sister Jan. She was preceded in death by her mother, Barb Engels. She will be dearly missed by her mother, father, and sister. Also, her father in law, sister and brother in laws, her nephew and nieces and many other relatives, her close network of friends and care givers who supported her over the toughest years. Support from family and friends was so valuable to Jill.
A Celebration of Jill’s Life is to be scheduled the first week of March in the South Bay area. Information will be sent soon, please share with friends and family.
Jill will be dearly missed, but she will continue to be remembered for her kindness and commitment to making the best of every day, no matter how adverse.
