John Matthias Sullivan, 31, of Playa Del Rey, CA, beloved son of Clarence Sullivan and Barbara Schmidt passed away on June 14, 2009. He was scheduled to formalize his nine year union with Kate Truitt, the love of his life, this Saturday. John was one of six children and is survived by his brothers Michael and Bartholomew, and his sisters Kieran, Amy and Megan. John was known for helping others all his life , especially through their darkest moments.
As a boy, John loved baseball and computer games, transforming the latter into a full-time career as an adult. He loved the Los Angeles Lakers, had a great sense of humor and was full of fun and mischief, rendering a great deal of joy for all who knew him. Johnny's first miracle was guiding Kobe Bryant and the boys to win the NBA conference.
John had a degree from Loyola Marymount University in Computer Engineering and worked with three of his siblings at Michael Sullivan & Associates for more than eight years.
John's untimely death is a tragic loss, not only of John as he is now, but of everything he might have been. We will never forget him. He is sorely missed but safe in God's hands.
Services will be performed at St Anastasia's Catholic Church in Los Angeles by his godfather, the Reverend Thomas Buckley, S.J., at 10 am June 18, 2009.
