
Joseph Frank Lilly (Joe), a 34 year resident of Mission Viejo, CA, passed away Wednesday morning, January 12, 2011 in Glendale, CA at Glendale Convalescent Hospital. Born in Sinaola, Mexico, Joe was 89 when he died.
He attended Inglewood High School and Ventura College in California. Joe had served in the United States Air Force during WWII and trained as a pilot. He was a successful business owner for over 40 years selling waterless stainless steel cookware. His distributorship, located in Inglewood, CA won many awards competing with distributorships all over the U.S. Joe was also chosen as one of the first eight men to receive the prestigious Manager of the Year award from the Flavor-Seal Cookware Corporation headquartered in Chicago, IL. He was a resident of Inglewood for almost 50 years prior to moving to Mission Viejo, CA.
Joe was a great athlete and loved all sports. He was also an avid golfer. Joe was a wonderful friend and he loved and adored his family. He will always be remembered for his big smile and the twinkle in his eye.
Joe is survived by his son, Jody Lilly and his daughter, Dena O'Connor both of Redondo Beach, CA, his sisters, Josephine Mascola of Mission Viejo, CA, and Frances Guisness of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, as well as his grandsons, Scott Haas and Curt Haas of San Clemente, CA and R.J. Sorenson of Redondo Beach, CA.
