DeWalt, Joyce Alberta, a 35 year resident of Torrance, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 in Torrance. Born in Chelmsford, MA, Joyce was 69 when she died. Joyce was a member of First Lutheran Church in Torrance.
She was an office manager for 30 years at Paramount Auto Parts and also worked part- time at Mervyn's in Torrance because she loved being able to talk to people. Joyce enjoyed working in her garden, especially with her many rose bushes. The true joy of her life though, was the time she spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by Daughter, Linda DeMartini of Thousand Oaks, CA , Daughter, Susan Venable of Torrance, CA., and Grandchildren Rayne DeMartini, Elysabeth DeMartini, Kady DeMartini, Cameron Venable, and Taylor Venable. Preceded in death by Mother, Abbie Delehanty and Father, Asa Dearth. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Rice Mortuary on Monday January 16th at 10:00am. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association or the Salvation Army.
