Laura Jean Spangler or Jeannie as everyone called her, was born in Oklahoma in 1937. Her family made their way to California and she grew up in San Pedro and Carson, attending Narbonne High School and Harbor College. She met her beloved Joe on a blind date at the age of 19 and it was love at first sight. They married in 1956 and went on to raise their six children (Joan, Joe, Barbara, Elayne, John and Susan) in El Segundo. They were active members of the St. Anthony's Church. Among various jobs to help support the family, Jeannie worked as a medical transcriber. She enjoyed puzzles, mystery novels and detective shows. She volunteered with her church and in her community. She loved spending time with her nineteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Jeannie was married for 64 years to Joe, the love of her life. She will truly be missed by all.
