Solano, Lilia Trinidad, a 30-year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Thursday morning, September 2, 2010 in Torrance, CA. Born in San Isidro del General, Costa Rica, Lilia was 66 years old when she passed.
Referred to as Tita, a shortening of the Spanish word for grandma, "abuelita," by all of her grandchildren, Lilia truly radiated love and was surrounded by it each and every day. Throughout her career as a nurse, Lilia touched the lives of all sorts of patients and coworkers alike. There is no doubt that she positively influenced the lives of each person she came in contact with in one form or another. Whether it was with a simple smile or a great hug, Lilia selflessly made sure that everyone around her was happy and felt loved.
A member of St. James Catholic Church, Lilia always made it a point to serve others before she even began to look after herself. Hardly ever displaying an ounce of negativity or pain, Lilia was in fact a living testament of the true strength, beauty, and simplicity of human life.
Her beautiful smile and warm character transcends all of the pain and struggle she quietly endured throughout her life. Tita will forever be in all of our hearts.
Lilia is survived by her Husband, Orlando Solano, her daughters, Patricia Gonzalez and Ana Lorena Solano, and her son, Orlando Solano Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elida and Juan Bautista Mora. Her service will be held at St. James Catholic Church on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 2:00pm. A reception will follow in Rice Mortuary's Lighthouse Reception room from 3:30 - 5:30pm. Burial will be private.
