

Marjorie Morris White died at her home in Torrance on May 10, 2015. She was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico on May 17, 1926, and was raised in Wetumka, Oklahoma. It was there that she met her future husband, Lytle White. They were married in 1946 and moved to California.
In addition to raising their family, Marge was also active in PTA and Gateway Council and served as president in both organizations. She attended CSUDH and graduated, with honors, with a BA in English. After receiving her teaching credential, she taught English and Journalism at Narbonne High School from 1974-1988 and was advisor for the school’s Green & Gold newspaper.
Marge and Lytle belonged to the Torrance Moose Lodge for many years, where they enjoyed holiday parties and weekly dances. Marge held offices in the women’s auxiliary organization and also edited the lodge’s monthly newsletter.
Marge is survived by her son Michael J White, daughter Karen S White, grandson Michael R White and his wife, Jennifer White, two great granddaughters, Jadyn and Avery White, and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lytle, and daughter Patricia J White. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 30th at 1:00 pm at Halverson, Stone & Myers Mortuary, 1223 Cravens Ave, Torrance, CA 90501.
