Jones, Michael Dean, (Mick), an 11 year resident of the Lomita area, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2011 in Los Angeles. Born in Fort Collins, CO, Mick was 48 when he died. Mick was a past member of LA Hog Chapter #1 and the San Jose Squid Hunters riding group. Mick attended San Jose State University and De Anza College in San Jose as well as attending Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Northridge, CA. Mick's interests included motorcycle racing, mechanic, and research and development work. Mick also had a love for the outdoors where he spent free time in Alaska hunting and fishing with friends. Mick is survived by mother, Jodell Hamlin of College Station, TX, brother, Kevin Jones, and niece and nephew, Kyla and Brent Jones of Carlisle, PA. He was preceded in death by father, Darwin (Ed) Jones and brother Steve Jones. The Memorial Service will be held at Rice Chapel on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 3:00 pm with a reception following in Rice's Lighthouse Reception Room until 6:00pm.
