Mike was raised in Manhattan Beach and El Segundo, graduating from El Segundo High in 1966. Growing up he developed a lifelong passion for surfing and motorcycles. Surfing the M.B. pier and riding his Honda 50 on the streets and fields of El Segundo were the memories of his childhood. His strong work ethic was developed on his first job, paperboy for the Herald Examiner. After high school he worked as a mechanic for Chevron service stations until "being invited" to join the army in 1968. After serving in Germany he resumed his mechanical career and eventually became a Chevron dealer. His last station was at 45th and Highland. He counts many of his customers and former employees as friends and was often recognized on vacation by acquaintances by his luxurious mustache. In addition to surfing and motorcycles he enjoyed photography, motor home vacations, NASCAR and his Dodgers.
Mike was predeceased by his mother Thelma, in-laws Art and Nikie Williams, Chris and Kathy Williams, his pet kids LaFong, Dusty, Sarah and Maggie. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Stacey, dog daughter Fiona, nephew and family, Jason, Laura, Harper and Cooper Williams, and many extraordinary friends including his first wife Toni.
His passing, too soon, was a result of COPD and congestive heart failure, caused by smoking. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to your favorite charity that supports the health and welfare of animals or the oceans.
