

Netta Clara Plante passed away unexpectedly early in the morning on October 5, 2021 at the age of 89.
Netta was born on April 18, 1932 in Mandan, North Dakota to her parents Burton Lawrence and Mary Brigham. Netta moved to the South Bay at age 13 and went on to graduate from Redondo Union High School in Redondo Beach, California.
Netta worked for the US Postal Service for 30 years spending the majority of this time at the Torrance main post office. Netta loved everything about the Postal Service and was an avid collector of stamps and post office memorabilia.
Netta was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, and a person who raised most of the children in the neighborhood. Netta loved all unconditionally
Netta loved traveling, casinos, frequent gatherings with her family and friends, writing poems, painting, and jokes. A long time Dodger fan, Netta never missed a game. Netta completed the Daily Breeze crossword puzzle every morning and was always ready for a game of cards, a board game, or a Sudoku puzzle. Netta attended as many of her children’s and grandchildren’s school and sports events as was possible. Netta enjoyed and studied the Bible, reading it daily and writing down her favorite verses.
Netta was preceded in death by her parents, Burton Lawrence and Mary Brigham, brothers Robert Brigham and Henry Brigham and her sisters Irene Gogerty and Shirley Wolfgram. Netta is survived by her sister Virginia Weibel, her children, Mary Howard, Joseph Plante, Deborah Plante, and William Plante (Melanie), her grandchildren Deborah Howard, Stephanie Collins (Ronald), Leonard Manitz, Erin Watkins (Nicholas), and Carly Plante, great grandchildren Turner Watkins and Cooper Watkins, numerous In-laws, nephews, nieces, and countless family members and friends.
Netta will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
