Orlene was a very loving and devoted woman that cherished her family and friends.
Orlene was born on March 14, 1943 in Glendale, California. Then she and her family moved to Hawthorne, CA. where she lived throughout her school years. She graduated from Leuzinger High School on June 15, 1961.
Orlene married her high school sweetheart, William Reed on June 16, 1961 (the day after she graduated high school). William (Bill) and Orlene were happily married for 65 wonderful years. Orlene and Bill shared a wonderful life together and had 3 children, Fred, Robert and Wendy.
Orlene was an amazing woman who captured the heart of all who met her. She spent her life completely devoted to her husband, Bill and her family. She spent her time selflessly caring for others. Orlene loved camping, music concerts and all children. She spent her life caring for her family, as well as opening her home and heart to her kids friends, and having a small home daycare for family and friends. Orlene was like a second mom to all of the kids. She would care for them, as well as in a subtle, gentle way give them life advice and teach them to cook and sew, (two of Orlene's favorite hobbies. Orlene was loved by so many - she was affectionately referred to as my beautiful wife, Mom, Auntie, Grandma, Great Grandma, 2 Mom and Momma "O". She would answer to all with a smile.
Orlene loved to have a good time. She cherished the simple things in life - family, friends, nature, her roses, a good joke, music, football, and a beautiful sunset sky.
Orlene is survived by her husband Bill, her children and families, Fred Reed (Erica Lombardo), Robert Reed (Linda Conner), Wendy (Reed) Barnes (David Barnes), grandchildren Mason Reed and Scarlett Reed, and great grandson, Rusty Reed. As well as her brother Robert Smith and sister-in-law Patricia Haddock-Smith and brother-in- law Ron Robinson.
Orlene's predeceased family include her granddaughter Brittany Reed, parents Olga Smith, Oral Smith, siblings Fred Smith, Dennis Smith, sisters-in-law Trish Smith, Roberta Smith, Gayle Reed, Glenda Robinson, and brothers-in-law, Jack Reed, and Glenn Reed. Orlene will be greatly missed. Her loving memory will forever remain in our hearts.
