Rashmi Rita Raj

Rashmi Rita Raj, age 71, of Redondo Beach, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026.

Born in Fiji, Rashmi grew up surrounded by family, culture, and community. It was there that she met the love of her life, Deo Raj, and they were married on December 19, 1993. Together, they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. In 1995, Rashmi moved to the United States, where she began a new chapter in Southern California.

Rashmi worked at Niranjans in Fiji and later at The Hecker Law Group before dedicating her life to caring for others through babysitting and caregiving. Her natural warmth and compassion made her a source of comfort and support to everyone she met.

She was the beloved wife of Deo Raj, who preceded her in passing on February 25, 2026. Rashmi was a devoted and loving mother to Shaleeta Kiran (Gomez) and her husband Johan Gomez; Moneeta Kiran (Pal) and her husband Arveen Pal; Doreen Raj; Chrishneil Raj and his wife Indira Raj; Joseph Raj; and Bill Raj (Raj-Marney) and his husband Jolan Raj-Marney. She was also a proud and loving grandmother to Christopher Raj, Christian (Ron) Raj, Amisha Gomez, and Larissa Gomez, all of whom she cherished deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ram Brij and Sunaina Brij (née Ramswarup), and her sister, Brinda Brij.

Rashmi was known for her incredible strength, her deep kindness, and her unwavering love for her family. She had a special way of bringing people together—through her cooking, her generosity, and the joy she found in hosting and spending time with loved ones. She was deeply faithful, attending church regularly and holding her beliefs close to her heart.

To her family, she was everything—a guiding light, a source of unconditional love, and the foundation that held everyone together. Her presence filled every room, and her love will continue to live on through the lives she touched.

A service to honor and celebrate Rashmi’s life will be held on May 16, 2026.

Rashmi will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
