Clever, Ray Edward, a 39 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 in Torrance. Ray was born in Kansas City, Kansas, March 6, 1921 to Adolph Clever and Charlotte (Tyree) Clever and was 85 when he died. Ray had served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Redondo Beach. Ray and Carol were private pilots and members of the 56 Flying club in Torrance where they learned to fly.
He is survived by his Wife, Carol Clever of Torrance, CA; two Daughters, Kathleen (Landis) Rulla of NE and Sheryl (Jeff) Petersen -Tsch of OH; Son, Larry (Jill) Clever of OH; Sister, Elsie Bushnell of AR; 4 Grandchildren, and 4 Great Grandchildren.
A gathering of family & friends will be held at Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Blvd. in Torrance on Sunday March 4, 2007 from noon to 4pm. The Service will be held at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 330 Palos Verdes Blvd. in Redondo Beach on Tuesday March 6, l2007 at 10am. Burial will take place at Highland Park Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
