
Ray was born on June 11, 1966 in Redondo Beach, CA. Ray was raised in Redondo Beach, California and graduated from Mira Costa High in 1985, Later he went to and graduated from Wyoming Tech. with a Associate degree in Diesel Mechanic's. He moved to Lomita California to pursue a career with the OCTA in the public transportation industry.
After graduating from Mira Costa, Ray worked in Maintenance at Hughes Aircraft Co in El Segundo, CA, and Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, CA, after he graduated from Wyoming Tech. In 2002, he began a career as a diesel mechanic with OCTA. He was a dedicated mechanic and volunteered to work holidays and over time throughout his career, but was very modest about his achievements. He was proud of being part of the OCTA team. A devoted family man, Ray was active in his children's endeavors, including sports, family programs and philanthropic activities.
Ray was very proud of his son Tim who is serving in United States Air Force, and who just returned from Iraq.
He enjoyed traveling with his family and friends. When Ray was younger he enjoyed playing Base ball with Mira Costa Little League. He became an assistant coach in his teens. He enjoyed camping with his brothers and sister, going to Renaissance fairs, skiing, and running 10k's with his sister, and dressing up for Halloween.
He had a great love of old Harley Motor cycles, guns, Drag Boat racing, Monster trucks and car shows. Throughout his life he shared his love for dogs and children.
Ray is survived by his wife Saundra Logan; Children, Joe Palmer (Marie), Angie (David), Amanda (Matt), Ashlee, Tim and Autumn, Four grandchildren Joe Ray, Kay Lynn, Jonathan and Felicity; Mother Bette, his sister Melanie Bawolski (Mike), his Brothers Luke (Sandy) Beau, Nieces Elke and Cassidy, his Aunt Rachel (John) Cousins, Dan (Joy) Mike (Terry) and Trudy Koblosh and Kathy Qualls. He has numerous Aunts and Uncles and cousins in Tennessee who he dearly loved and enjoyed visiting.
Ray was a loving person with a great since of humor; He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Ray G. Logan JR.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday December 29, 2008 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Rice Mortuary in Torrance, CA. Memorial Services will begin at 10:00 AM with a reception to follow at the mortuary. Interment services will be held December 29, 2008 at the Green Hills Cemetery 27501 S. Western Ave, RPV, CA 1:30 PM
