
Campbell, Robert Ayland, a 76 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2006 in Torrance. Born in El Paso, Texas, Robert was 79 when he died. Robert had served in the Navy during World War II. He was a very active member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Garden for many years.
During his career, Bob worked for Capitol Records, Liberty United Artists Records, and Viking Office Products.
His interests included fishing, golfing, history, reading and Bible study.
He is survived by his wife, Jude Campbell of Torrance, CA; daughter, Charlotte (Jim) Maloney and their daughter Elly, of Eugene, OR; daughter, Mary (Walt) Thompson and their children Emily, Erin, and Patrick, of Puyallup, WA; daughter, Joan (Ron) Irvin and their children Jacob, Kerry, and Andrew, of Gardnerville, NV; daughter Ruth Comstock of Torrance, CA; brother, John (LoRay) Campbell of Banning, CA and their sons Kent and Mark; sister-in-law, Lucille Campbell, of Milton, FL; and neices Patty and Connie, daughters of his deceased brother Douglas. Bob is also preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Rice Mortuary in Torrance from 5 - 9 p.m., with a time of sharing and reflection at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Gardena on Friday, July 14 at 11:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, followed by a Reception in the Lighthouse Room of Rice Mortuary in Torrance. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity or organization of your choice.
