Bob was a good friend, he and I played golf together after he introduced me to the sport.  My sincere condolences to Dana and Nick.  Although some time has passed, I’ll always remember Bob’s calm demeanor and most of all his friendship.

I just found out today that Bob left us last summer.  He was a colleague of mine.  We met at the Wentworth Company.  He was a very decent human being and held my highest respect.  He will be truly missed.  My heartfelt thoughts to his family.      Susie Basanda

Dear Dana and Nick,      I'm so very sorry and shocked to read of Bob's passing.  I graduated with Bob and his brother Steve from Wabash High School in 1962.  He was a nice guy and I'm glad our paths crossed.  Once in awhile, I would get a long dissertation out of him when a joke was circulated digging California.      I received your automated reply this evening.  We lost another classmate, Larry Keffaber, this past weekend.      I will send out a note to the rest of our classmates tonight. I was so sad to learn just today (July 6) of Bob's death.  Bob and his brother were in my class in high school (1962 - it seems like such an age ago, yet in some ways only yesterday), and for years we had wondered where they had gone.  Bob was at our last class reunion, everybody was so happy to see him, and I was looking forward to seeing him next year, too.        I believe I worked with Marion at the Wabash County Hospital many, many years ago.  Please ask if she remembers me, and give condolences and a great big hug from me.        Our reunion next year will be lessened because of Bob's absence. I am so glad we were able to meet up four years ago.  Bob will be missed.

I was sorry to hear of Bob's death we are 1962 WSH class mates. I have told many people of his excitement at attending the last class reunion. It was the first he had attended and he had a great time renewing old friendships. I to was looking forward to possibly seeing him in 2007. He will be missed. Cherryl and I will keep Bob and his family in our prayers.

It is with great sadness that I have learned of Bob's passing. Bob, Steve, and I went to Wabash High School together and we graduated in 1962.  We lived only about 4 blocks from each other and we were good friends during that time.      I'll always remember Bob as upbeat and jovial.  He always loved a good joke and was great to be around. Dana & Nick   I am so sorry about your loss. Bob and I were immediate friends when we first met in the 80's. We shared many things with each  other. Amongst them were his love for his family. Bob was a gentleman and brought class and professionalism to his field. He always remembered who his true friends were. I was fortunate to have dinner with Bob in LA last year. I will share this news with the many friends Bob made throughout his career. We all share in your sorrow and the memories of knowing such a fine man.

Dear Dana,       I share your pain in this loss. I lost my husband three years ago to cancer (Greg's birthday was July 20th and he had just turned 63). I work on the same floor Bob did in a different area where he was always referred to as "that nice guy across the hall."  I was shocked that he died so soon after he was diagnosed. Dana and Nick,   Dennis and I were remembering the Whistler trip with fondness and looking back through the pictures.  Dennis was recalling their golf outing to the Whistler Golf Course and what a beautiful afternoon it was...they weren't able to play the last hole because it had gotten too dark to see so they headed over to the Dublin Gate Inn for dinner together and to rehash all 17 holes as only golfers can do. Bobâ€™s family      I was deeply saddened by Bobâ€™s unexpected death.  He was married to my sister Vikki and he helped me through my challenging teen years.  Latter on he supported when I joined the Army.  After I had left the Army, I used him as a mentor to get myself through Cal Poly Pomona just as he had done.      I went back into the Army for ten years after I graduated from college.  The few times I was in Southern California, I always meant to look up Bob.  Now, I wish I had done that.  I will miss him dearly and will regret that I will not get the visit in that I have thought about for the last thirty years or so.      I hope and wish that the Chambersâ€™ family is doing well and I will pray for you during this most difficult time of yours.      PS      One thing I remember about Bob going to Cal Poly.  He use to wear his Navy â€œPâ€ coat to school and he thought that was so cool.  He also put these bumpers on his 65 Volkswagen, called nurf bars, and he thought that was pretty slick too.  Oh, I must mention the arguments we had over President Nixon.  I thought he was the best and Bob said to my face that he was just a crook! Dear Dana and Nick,       We are all very sad about your loss and cannot imagine what all three of you experienced during Bob's last six weeks or how you -- Dana and Nick -- feel now. You have been in our prayers -- at least six times as long as we were next door neighbors -- and all three of you will continue to be in our prayers.       It's been 16 years since we lived next door in Torrance at 1915 West 230th St. You and Bob are among the best neighbors we ever had. We have missed you ever since we moved back to Missouri in 1990. As good friends, we would all talk amiably about whatever was on our minds and did so frequently, as one of us would spot another in our yards. The last time we recall going somewhere all together, we (Bill, Ginny, Beth-13, Janet-9, and Sarah-3) went with you (Bob, Dana, and Nick-4) to Bob's favorite frozen yogurt parlor in Torrance. Bill also remembers occasions, when Bob and he took Nick and the Blackburn girls to Sur La Brea Park, which was maybe five blocks south of our homes.       We all remember watching Nick and Sarah riding around our yards in Nick's Little Red Jeep and Bob telling Bill that Nick also had his eyes on Janet. They were all adorable. Beth says Nick was the best youngster for whom she ever baby sat. Nicholas, Sarah and Janet were the first children she watched over, as baby sitter. Beth would sit for 10 to 20 more children during our first four years in Florissant, Missouri, as she was in high school. Yet, Nick was the best behaved.       Bob is still watching over you.
