
Robert passed away in Torrance on Sunday, July 15th, 2007 surrounded by his family. He was born July 10th, 1928 in Los Angeles, California and attended several schools across the states but graduated from Inglewood High School in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed by North American Aviation and retired after 43 years as an Aviation Engineering Specialist. Robert was known for his unconditional love for his family, his passion for animals and nature, and his endless supply of one-of-a-kind life stories. His favorite activity and leisure time was spent in the Sierras: camping, hiking, and his favorite fishing. Robert's warm, bright smile and genuine laughter will forever be missed but never forgotten. He is preceded in death by his mother (Nina Faye), his father (Albert B. Hose), and his stepdaughter (Elizabeth Jacobs). He is survived by his loving wife, Siv of 32 years; he was the dear father of daughters Debbie (Jim) Scott from Lenexa, KS, Lori (Jim) Miscik from Ontario, CA, Shryle (Robert) Reid from Corona, CA, and Diane (Pete) Maclaughlin from Palm Desert, CA; he was a wonderful Dad to stepchildren Anette (Burt) Rosenberg from Lake Arrowhead, CA, Larry Jacobs from Torrance, CA, and Lisa Jacobs from Torrance, CA; he was the beloved Grandpa to 19 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; he was the older brother to Keith (Nancy) Hose from Carson, CA; older brother to sisters Nina Joan (Don) Black from Paradise, CA, Betty Jean Hoy from Rialto, CA, and Mary Lou (Bill) Wolfe from Paradise, CA; sister-in-Iaws Sonja Meadows and Irene (Ulf) Andersson and families whom reside in Sweden; many nieces and nephews who will dearly miss their "Uncle Bob"; and he was a friend to many people from all walks of life. A memorial service will be held at Rice Mortuary (5310 Torrance Blvd.) on Tuesday, August 14th, 2007 at 2:00 pm, followed by a reception in the Lighthouse Reception room at Rice Mortuary.
